Today in my BNI Group (business networking group in Michigan) I learned simple ways to use LinkedIn for business networking and ultimately referrals.

Here’s my simple breakdown:

1) Get a LinkedIn account. If you are not currently signed up for LinkedIn, CLICK HERE.

2) Be sure to complete your profile including your public profile. Be sure to add links to your websites/other sites such as Facebook or Twitter.

3) Add a professional photo to your profile

4) In order to GET recommendations under your profile you need to GIVE them.
Pick out your top 5 0r 10 people you would like recommendations from, invited them to join LinkedIn (if they haven’t already) AND write a recommendation FOR them.
In return they will (hopefully) write a recommendation for you!

5) Brainstorm all of your network connections such as groups or organizations you are members of, colleagues, customers or clients, etc. and find them or invite them to JOIN Linked In.

If you work ON your business, you would be surprised who you’ll meet and the business you’ll get.

Thanks to Jessica from eBootCamp.com who provided myself and my BNI group with this valuable information.
